Well I think that he has a good point. It was because of the complacent nature of DC and Marvel in the 1990′s that they both almost folded. Yeah, the stories are amazing and they are trying new routs, i.e. the Ultimate universe of Marvel, they haven’t brought anything new to the table in a while.

How are they going to bring in new readers if they don’t introduce new characters. If you look at a large number of the people buying comics, its guys in there 20s and 30s, not to many kids. And like he said you have to have kids reading the comics to keep the industry alive.

Its not that fun trying to get into a comic when you have know idea that back history of all the characters. Or if you have to go online and read through a novel to get an idea of whats going on.

If DC or Marvel would introduce a few, ‘good quality’, characters and stories then they might be able to bring in the youth again like they did in the 80s and early 90s.
